You do not need an account to play Beat Hit, and we never ask you for your name, email, phone number or location.
Your score, coins, purchased cosmetics and settings are stored on your own device. They are not sent to us. If you choose to sign in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), a copy is also kept in that account so you can continue on another device.
Data is collected by the Google AdMob advertising that keeps the game free and by Google Firebase, which reports crashes and — outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland — measures how the game is played. Firebase never uses your advertising identifier. Details below.
1Who this policy covers
This document covers the Beat Hit mobile game (Android and iOS) and its web version. By installing or playing the game you agree to this policy.
App owner and data controller: Uptide — uptideapp.com (application id: com.uptide.beat).
2Data stored on your device
The game keeps your progress in your device's local storage (localStorage) as a single record. Unless you turn on cloud save (section 3), this record never leaves your device; neither we nor any third party can read it.
| Stored | Description |
|---|---|
| High score | Your record and best combo |
| Games played | Total rounds, shown in the stats panel |
| Daily streak | Consecutive days played and the last play date |
| Coins | Current balance and lifetime earnings |
| Shop | Balls, trails, hit effects and themes you own and the ones equipped |
| Goals | Achievements, today's quests and their progress |
| Settings | Sound, music, vibration and game-mode preferences |
| Ad counter | Rounds finished since the last interstitial ad |
This data is anonymous and cannot identify you. It disappears entirely if you reset it in-game or uninstall the app.
3Cloud save and leaderboards (optional)
You can sign in to Game Center on iOS or Google Play Games on Android from the game's settings. Signing in is never required to play.
- Cloud save — the same record described in section 2 is stored in your Game Center / Play Games account so you can restore it on another device. It is kept by Apple or Google under their privacy policies; we cannot read it.
- Leaderboards — your best scores are posted to the leaderboard, where other players can see them next to your Game Center / Play Games nickname.
Resetting your progress in the game also overwrites the cloud copy. Scores already posted to a leaderboard, and the Game Center / Play Games account itself, are managed through your Apple or Google account settings.
4Advertising
Beat Hit is free and funded by advertising, served through Google AdMob:
- Interstitial video — at most once every three games, as you leave the game-over screen; never during play
- Rewarded video — only when you choose to watch one, to continue a run or to unlock a cosmetic
To serve these ads, Google's advertising infrastructure may process the following on its own behalf — we have no access to any of it:
- Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / iOS IDFA)
- IP address and the approximate location derived from it (country/city level)
- Device and app information — model, OS version, language, app version
- Ad interactions — impressions, clicks, watch time
Google is responsible for this processing. See Google's Privacy Policy and how AdMob uses data.
Turning off personalised ads
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, where you can revoke tracking permission. The app also asks for this permission on first launch; if you decline, you will only be shown non-personalised ads.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: a consent screen is shown on first launch where you set your preferences. You can change them at any time from Settings → Ad preferences in the game.
Turning off personalised ads does not prevent you from playing; ads simply will not be selected based on your interests.
5Analytics and crash reports
The app uses two Google Firebase services. Neither receives your name, email, contacts or precise location, and neither uses your advertising identifier. Their data is not used for advertising.
- Firebase Crashlytics — when the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent so we can fix it: the technical details of the error, the device model, OS and app version, the game mode and last score at the time, and a random installation identifier. Crash reports are sent in every region, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the game working.
- Firebase Analytics — game events such as a run starting or ending, the score, the mode, coins earned or spent and the shop being opened, together with device and app information and a random app-instance identifier. We use it only to balance difficulty and improve the game. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics is turned off and no analytics events are sent.
See Privacy and Security in Firebase. Firebase data is retained for the periods Google sets for these services.
6Permissions and data we do not use
The app never uses or requests: camera, microphone, precise location, contacts, calendar, photo library, file access or health data.
The only permissions used are:
INTERNET— for ads, crash reports and analytics (section 5), and cloud save if you sign in (section 3)AD_ID— access to the advertising identifier (Android)VIBRATE— haptic feedback on hits; you can turn it off in settings
Sharing your score: the "Share score" button hands a short text to your device's own share sheet; you choose where it goes. The game itself sends nothing.
Cookies: the web version uses browser local storage; this is not an advertising cookie, it only holds your progress. If ads are shown on the web version, Google may set its own cookies.
7Children's privacy
Beat Hit is not designed for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child's data has been processed, contact us and we will act accordingly.
8Deleting your data
You can erase everything stored on your device in two ways:
- In-game Settings → Reset Progress — instantly deletes the whole record, including scores, coins, purchased cosmetics and preferences.
- Uninstalling the app — removes all local data with it.
Reset Progress also overwrites your cloud save if you are signed in (section 3). We hold no account or profile about you, so there is nothing else to request from us; crash and analytics data cannot be linked back to you by us. For anything concerning your advertising identifier, use your device settings or contact Google directly.
9Your rights
Under the GDPR and Turkish data protection law (KVKK, Law No. 6698) you have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your data. We do not collect your name or contact details; these rights mainly concern the advertising, crash and analytics data processed by Google on our behalf or on its own. You are welcome to write to us with any question regardless.
