Uptide Privacy Policy

Uptide is a productivity app developed by an independent developer as a personal project. There is no company operating Uptide. This policy explains what information is processed when you use Uptide on iOS, Android, macOS and the web, why it is processed, and your rights regarding it.

1. In short

  • The content you add (tasks, habits, notes, files, projects) is stored only to provide the service to you.
  • Your personal data is not sold.
  • You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app at any time.
  • The free version of the app shows ads served by Google AdMob.

2. Information processed

Account information. Email address, username, an optional profile photo and your sign-in method (email and password, Google or Apple). When you use Uptide as a guest, no email is required; an anonymous account is created. Your password is handled by the authentication service (Firebase Authentication); Uptide does not store your password in its own database.

Content you create. Tasks, habits and their logs, notes, files you upload (e.g. PDFs), projects, Pomodoro sessions and your app preferences.

Technical information.

  • Your device’s notification token, to send notifications.
  • Device and app attestation data to prevent abuse (Firebase App Check).
  • In the mobile app, the advertising identifier and basic device information to show ads (Google AdMob).

Uptide does not collect location, contacts or microphone data. The camera and photo library are accessed only when you choose a profile photo, with your permission.

3. How information is used

  • To create your account and let you sign in,
  • to store your content and sync it across your devices,
  • to send reminders and notifications,
  • to keep the service secure and prevent abuse,
  • to show ads in the free version.

4. Storage and security

Data is stored on Google’s Firebase infrastructure (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage and Authentication) and encrypted in transit. Some content fields, such as note, task and habit texts, are additionally encrypted within the app before being sent to the server. Although reasonable technical measures are taken, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Items moved to the trash stay there until you delete them permanently.

5. Third-party services

Uptide uses the services below. They process information according to their own privacy policies:

  • Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, notifications and App Check (privacy)
  • Google AdMob — ads (privacy)
  • Sign in with Google (privacy)
  • Sign in with Apple (privacy)

The servers of these services may be located outside your country (e.g. in the European Union or the United States), and your information may be processed there.

6. Ads

Ads in the free version are served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device information such as the advertising identifier to show and measure ads. Where required in your region, the app asks for your consent regarding ad preferences. You can turn off personalized ads and reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.

7. Your rights

Depending on the laws that apply where you live (such as the GDPR or Turkey’s KVKK), you may have rights such as accessing your personal data and requesting its correction or deletion.

  • You can edit your profile under Settings › Account.
  • You can permanently delete your account and all associated data under Settings › Account › Delete account.
  • For other requests, contact the address below.

8. Children

Uptide is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children of that age. If you are under the age required for digital services in your country, you should use Uptide with your parent’s permission.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be announced in the app; the current version is always available on this page.
